At the start of the year, I made a conscious effort to incorporate some new activities that I thought would improve my daily life. Looking back at the first 6 months of 2016, I’m happy to see that I’ve actually added 3 new ‘things’ that have more or less become a daily habit.  I thought I’d share with them with you today :).

1. The Five Minute Journal

This is probably one of my favorite way of starting my day. It has become an essential part of my daily routine, where I write down 3 things I’m grateful for each morning, 3 things that would make today great as well as a personal affirmation. Later in the evening I note down 3 things that made today great and one thing that would have made today even better.

I find a lot of peace doing this, and would have to say I feel I live a more grateful life. For more info, check out www.fiveminutejournal.com . I ordered mine from the States (with international shipping available), gave one to my Mr and one to my mom. Worth every single pence.

2. Lunch-time walk

Where I work, there’s a beautiful basin floating through the city. This gives me a perfect 10 minute distance to stroll around during my lunch hour. I’ve noticed that getting out of the office mid-day, especially in the winter months, does wonders for my energy levels. Get walking peeps!

3. “The Miracle juice shot”

This one requires a weekly prep, but it’s oh so worth it. 200g of ginger root boiled, then mixed with lemon juice and honey – makes for a spicy and heartburning morning shot. My parents started making it, swearing by its ability to eliminate any sore throats and colds, plus aiding your metabolism. Having ‘stopped’ a few colds from going from that initial iffy feeling to a fully fledged cold – I now call it the miracle juice. You can take it in the morning or evening, or even both if you feel you need that extra kick! Sometimes I even add some of it to my water bottle for the gym.. Literally, you can add it to anything.

Soon I’m going to review my daily routine again, and see if there are more things to add or tweak to ensure each day is enjoyed to its fullest.
